Layered Minced Meat and Potato Casserole Recipe

 

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:

    • Mash the boiled potatoes with butter and milk until smooth and creamy.

    • Season with salt, pepper, and add dill or parsley for extra flavor. Set aside.

  2. Cook the Minced Meat Filling:

    • Heat olive oil in a pan, add onions, and sauté until soft.

    • Add garlic, bell pepper, and cook for 2 minutes.

    • Add ground meat, cook until browned.

    • Stir in tomato paste, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.

  3. Assemble the Casserole:

    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

    • Grease a baking dish and spread half of the mashed potatoes on the bottom.

    • Add the minced meat mixture as the second layer.

    • Cover with the remaining mashed potatoes, smoothing the top.

  4. Add Cheese & Bake:

    • Sprinkle shredded cheese and Parmesan on top.

    • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.

  5. Serve:
    Let it cool slightly before serving. Pair with a fresh green salad or pickles.
